Ok babysitter?

Ok babysitter?

My SIL looks after my nearly 3 yr old one day a wk while hubby and I both work a 12hr day. She just mentioned she's been called in to work this week and was planning to keep her 2 kids ( 12 and 8 )off school and leave them home with my little one and their grandpa who is 82 has dementia and very limited mobility.

I said no way but she seems to think I'm over reacting? Does anyone else see a problem with this or is it just me being overprotective

Kids aren't old enough to be by themselves to start with, grandpa is sick n if he has an episode what are the kids supposed to do?
my reaction would be like hell!
too many what ifs and too much for young children to have to deal with.

Stick to your guns. Does not sound safe nor responsible! You have a responsibility to your child and your motherly instincts are saying no. Listen to yourself, you are not overreacting!

Hell to the no. Your not over reacting if I was you I would be finding someone else to watch your child for the day. She can't expect a 12 and 8 yr old to take on the responsiblity of a 3 yr old for that amount of time. Follow your mummy instincts and go with that. Good luck

I think you haven't overreacted. You may need to take the day off or make alternative arrangements that day. GL IM. X
