Daycare fees & CCB/CCR

Hi mums, for those who have children in daycare and get the CCR and CCB, do you pay full day care fees each week/fortnight and then get reimbursed? Or does your daycare provider only make you pay the out of pocket amount? My daycare provider is making us pay the full amount upfront and she reimburses later. It's hard to come up with the full amount though as that money is needed to put toward other things. For example it's over $900 a fortnight, I have to pay that and then she gives me some back. I don't know if this is how it normally works and I'm feeling a bit frustrated. If it is then I'll suck it up.

That doesn't sound right. You choose if it's paid to centre or to you.
It shouldn't be paid to her then she reimburses you. That's not right. I'd be ringing centrelink

I only pay out of pocket. Always have no matter where my kids have been in care.

I've only ever paid out of pocket as that's what Centrelink told me to do when I arranged for the daycare centre to be paid directly from them.
No one can afford $900 upfront a fortnight! That's crazy! Talk to Centrelink but definitely stop paying like that. Ouchies on the finances!

No, Centrelink should be paying the centre/carer directly and you normally pay the balance. Even when we went to FDC this is how it was done. We were on 48% so it was about $280 out of pocket per f/n for three days per week.

I pay the full amount on my credit card on a Thursday and by Tuesday of the next week my rebate is in my savings account. I like doing it this way so I can accumulate credit card points more quickly. "She" doesn't give it back though - she puts the paperwork in and Centrelink does the rebate.
