What would you do if someone handed you a wad of cash

If you suddenly inherited $7,000 what would you do with it? Do something fun? Do something sensible? A bit of both? I'd like some inspiration.

It would depend on my current situation. Retire any credit card debt, would be my current thinking!
Put some aside for any upcoming big expenses like washing machine/fridge or car repairs etc.
Under my current circumstances I'd only spend a tiny portion on entertainment.

I think it depends what your normal financial situation is.
Do you have debts you struggle to pay? Are you saving for a house?

If your comfortable financially then I say have some fun. I'd probably save 2k and spend 5k on a nice family holiday in Fiji or something fun like that

Down payment to kickstart braces and dental work. And a holiday of course! A no kids long weekend somewhere new and exciting.

I recently came into $9,000 myself!
I didn't go stupid and happy to say I still have $5.5k left over.
I paid off a tax bill and a personal loan which combined were costing me $200 a month in repayments.
I bought my kids new beds, nothing flash, just normal single beds and a set of draws each. Paid out my phone plan, downgraded plan and upgraded phone (I'm now saving $20 a month from that) I stocked up on pet supplies so I won't have to buy any for atleast 6 months now. I put 1.5k straight into savings and bought a few little bits and pieces for myself. Oh I also got my car fixed and roadworthy! Be smart with your money, pay off bills that are costing you money in the long run. I'm now $220 better off every month, it doesn't sound like much but I'm saving myself over $2000 a year in repayments now :)

I am also interested in going on a cosmetic surgery holiday to Thailand, but I think I just want to save for that as I feel I don't want to waste this money on something like that that isn't needed

At this point in time i would use some of the money to purchase a 7 seat car as we're expecting baby no.4. I would use the rest if any towards a house deposit

We are currently going through IVF. And we don't have any other debts so I would use the money for our treatment or hopefully for baby items ☺
