I had mine manuallu removed for number 3 (retained product with the first 2 resulting in severe infections)
With my 4th I ended up having a c-sec but was told during that it would have probably happened again as my placenta had deteriorated quite badly at 39w5d.
If you are having bub in a different hospital or with a different ob just makesure they are aware of the afterbirth issues so they can be prepared.
As I had to wait over an hour in excruciating pain til a ob came to say oh no this needs intervention even though I had prior history of issues with afterbirth.
