My two year old calls his dad "boony"
We cant find the association to him creating this name. He will adress everyone in the room appropriately and then still single him out with this name of his own creation. Although i find it cute and sometimes humerous, i refrain from laughing as i know it hurts his feelings. We re-enforce "im daddy" and "thats daddy" ect but he is still doing it. Its coming up to a month now.
Ive tried researching it but the common thing is calling parents by their first names not a completely different name.
Anyone ever expeeienced this?

My cousin called his dad a wanker for 6 months thinking it was a nice name!
Don't think too much into it, just prompt dad and don't make a big song and dance about the nick name. Your son might be able to provide insight when he is older.
My son couldn't say 'poppy' when he first started talking but called him 'durdle' instead.. For 3 years he was durdle to everyone lol!! I think he's pretty pleased that one passed :)
Durdle?!!!!!! Hahaha I'm laughing so hard
