I have 3 beautiful boys aged 8, 6 & 4. They are generally good kids who argue one minute and get along the next like normal kids do. I do, however, have an issue with my youngest...he is barbaric! I'm at my wits end with his horrendous behaviour towards myself and his brothers. I'm not a "wrap my kids in cotton wool" kind of mum, I have rules and set boundaries and there are consequences to actions. I'm a very hands on mum who does like to take my kids out for lunch, play dates, park, swimming pool etc so they don't miss out on anything.
My youngest son is an angel one minute then lashes out at the smallest of issues, makes fists and threatens to punch, smacks, spits, kicks. If something doesn't go his way it's world war 3...I'm done, I'm worn out and can't deal with it anymore. I think I need to take him to see someone, but who???

Start with GP for a referral to a paediatrician and a child psychologist. Don't go public, go private. If you go public you will be waiting an extremely long time. It might be that your son fits diagnostic criteria for something or not but paediatrician is best placed to guide you on that. The psychologist can help with behavioural strategies.
This is my nearly 4 yr old son too! He can be so loving one minute and screaming at me the next. It's so frustrating! He's definitely getting better as he gets older but my god, he's a challenge! We found that certain foods make him so much worse - like strawberries, grapes and corn! Maybe keep a food diary and see if he has any triggers! Good luck!
