May be TMI for some. Body hair!

This might be a bit TMI for some people, but I'm going to ask anyway.

I see positive body image campaigns all the time about accepting how you look, what your size is etc, but why doesn't anyone ever mention body hair?????

I have incredibly dark hair. ALL over.
After a week of not shaving my legs every day my legs look like my Dads.
I shave my legs in the morning and by the afternoon I have a "5 o'clock shadow".
I got my legs waxed last week and they almost need doing again.
I have deep scars on my bikini line from ingrown hairs after shaving and waxing and I definitely can't afford laser therapy.
Wearing long pants in summer is out as it regularly hits 40 plus here.
I'm also having difficulties with shaving as I only have a shower and without my glasses, I can't see what I'm doing.

It's probably the one thing I am self conscious about.

What do you do? How do you cope with body hair with a mind of it's own?
Because I;m running out of ideas.

I'm hearing you, I have a European background so am all to familiar with dark hair. I know you posted that you can't afford but I'm still going to recommend IPL :) Even if you just do your bikini line to give you the confidence to wear swimmers or shorts in summer. I also had scaring from waxing & ingrowns, I found the IPL reduced all scarring as well as hair

Same problem, European background. I'll have to talk to to Beauty Salon here that does IPL. I wandered around the last city I lived in all day before finding shorts that covered something! Best and Less school zone shorts to be precise. :/
*sigh*

I don't have a lot of body hair, but seriously we need to get over the entire hairless phase! Do we really need to be so self conscious about hair, something we all have. I've drawn a line in the sand and now only shave my legs or pits if I'm going to somewhere really nice. Too bad to sad if it makes someone feel uncomfortable, I've got far better things to do with my time and spend money on. And no having hair doesn't make you dirty, just like having hair on your head doesn't make you dirty.

I'm hairy too (thanks Dad for the hairy genes!!!) Dark hairs on legs, arms, face etc and they grow quick.

I find creams a bit easier than shaving but they do smell and they make the shower floor slippery.

What about maxi skirts for those days you can't face shaving?

I'm hairy. And lazy. If I don't shave I'm not too bothered by it. My legs can look a tiny bit prickly at times. My husband drives me crazy about my private region. If it's not bare I no longer exist. SO... It's full bush right now. I'm sick of trying to compete with "every other girl" as my husband says

There are at home longer term options than shaving/waxing/creams!

I'm currently looking at this and the reviews seem positive- I have to shave my legs every morning and same with armpits so I feel your pain! Also maybe see a dr and check your hormones are all balanced correctly as that can lead to increased hair.
