Hyperactivity - how does it feel?

My 4 year old son has been diagnosed with hyperactivity. He doesnt have a behaviour problem, just hyperactive. I want to hear from others who suffer with hyperactivity.
I want to be able to understand him. Not what the Drs say but what he is feeling.
How do you feel about it? Is it annoying to have or do you just not know any different. Are you anxious? I would love to know how you feel about people constantly telling you to sit still or stop rocking on your chair.

This is a really interesting question. I've worked with kids with ADHD and they have described it to me like there head won't slow down. So even when they want to concentrate on something there brain is on to the next thing. They have also said its not until they've done something they've had a chance to think about the consequences because everything happens so quickly. They have said that they don't enjoy it, because it's exhausting and takes a lot of effort to do things that others do easily.

I've been told they actually experience time differently, everything feels slow to them, like sitting at a traffic light for 2 minutes can feel like 10 minutes, so they get antsy with anticipation and frustrated
The reason Ritalin is prescribed is actually to speed up time in their brain to the normal level so they can relax

My husband has ADHD.
He said his brain doesnt stop, and jumps from thing to thing.
He was on Ritalin as a child, he said he felt slow lethargic.
He had uncontrolable behaviour as a child, and still is like a wound up clock.
To teach him to focas he learnt to play instruments.

Heads up! When hubby is going to do things that make no sence his eyes change (you will notice over time)

Our boy has been tested, no ADHD.
Although he too just doesnt stop till he is exhusted then he is asleep.
The other day he went on 25mt inflatable in a 50mt pool at least 50 times in 2hrs. Showing no signs of slowing he is only just 6 years old. He exhusts everyone who is not used to him. He is not behavioural, just energetic, Where as hubby was behavioural. I can see it as an adult.
I have done alot of research on how to effectivly manage the insanity.

My husband was put on anti anxiety meds and calmed down, and the mood swings stopped. Then added magnisium tablets in the mix he said he has never felt better. He has a clear mind.
